Apple will finally release its most advanced smartphone, the iPhone 4S, starting at 8 a.m. local time on Oct. 14. Assuming Apple continues its record-breaking ways, the company will experience unprecedented foot traffic at each of its 357 Apple Stores worldwide.
iPhone 4S comes with so many surprise: Dual-core A5 chip, All-new 8MP camera and optics, IOS 5,
iCloud and Siri! However, iPhone 4S still cannot supports MXF files from Canon, Panasonic etc.
The video file formats supported by iPhone 4S:
1. AirPlay Mirroring to Apple TV support at 720p
2.H.264 video up to 1080p/30 fps, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
3.MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
4. Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format.
So if you want to import the camcorder MXF files to iPhone 4s, you will need to decode the MXF files to H.264 or MP4 first.
