Panasonic HDC-TM55 camcorder, as a full HD AVCHD model release in early 2010, enables users to capture 1080/60i or 1080/50i videos with 25x optical zoom and smile shot. Other Panny camcorders released with HDC-TM55, includes HDC-SD60 and HDC-HS60. The main difference between the three camcorders lies on the storing media. HDC-TM55 records to its 8GB built-in memory or memory card, HDC-SD60 only records to memory card, while HDC-HS60 can record to 120GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or memory card.
No matter you are using Panny HDC-TM55, HDC-SD60 or HDC-HS60 to take videos of sports or action events, you may find that the videos play perfectly on camcorder or when directly connected the camcorder to HDTV via HDMI cable, but not on Mac. The .mts videos are not compatible with Mac. I searched and tried Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac to convert the AVCHD video footage to QuickTime MOV. However, the output videos show interlacing lines on QuickTime Player.

After trying other functions on the Mac Panasonic MTS converter, I notice the useful deinterlacing function and would like to share with you the simple steps and solutions. Just follow the guide below and you will figure out how to deinterlace and play Panasonic HDC-TM55/SD60/HS60 MTS on Mac OS X.
Step 1. Load Panasonic video to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.
After copying the .mts files from the HDC-TM55 camcorder, run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the best Panasonic HDC-TM55/SD60/HS60 MTS converter on Mac, and click the “Add” button to load 1080/60i or 1080/50i .mts videos.
Step 2. Choose MOV output format.
Click the “Format” option and navigate to Common Video > MOV – QuickTime(*.mov) as output format. The default format will convert Dolby Digital 5.1 audio to AAC 5.1 audio. If you would like to use DD 5.1 as output audio, just click the “Settings” button to change the audio codec to AC3 for Dolby Digital. And you may notice that the output audio channels option is set as 6 by default.

Step 3. Deinterlace Panasonic TM55 1080i MTS.
Select a video clip on the list, and click the “Editor” button, go to the Effect tab and tick the checkbox for deinterlacing. The MTS converter will resolve the interlacing issue for the 1080i .mts videos on Mac.
Step 4. Convert Panasonic TM55 MTS to MOV.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the Mac Panasonic HDC-TM55 converter will start the conversion MTS to MOV, removing the Panasonic HDC-TM55 lines for perfect playback on Mac.
After the conversion is finished, the AVCHD camcorder videos would play smoothly on iMac QuickTime Player without interlacing issue. And you can share the videos on YouTube, Vimeo or even via email.
Tips:
