What are some of the most useful freeware/shareware programs you use on a regular basis?

Where can I download this software? Is it a freeware/shareware? I am able to find only lot of papers regarding it in Google but not the software. Is there any other simple software similar to this (other than OPNET or QUALNET) which could serve the purpose of simulating routing in NoC.
I use ”SWF & FLV player” from Eltima software. There’s a PRO version of this program that allows you fullscreen and lot more. I tried to download it, but it was shareware and I don’t have a credit card, so I can’t buy it. Maybe you can find some site to download it free.
I have been looking around for this for a while. Is there any software out there (shareware, freeware, ect.) that records the sound coming OUT of your computer into a new audio file? (whatever file type is fine).
What you want is an audio recorder that captures sound from your audio card on-the-fly.
Be careful what you install though – CNET downloads are usually trustworthy.
Is there any free shareware software that will compress mpeg files to WVM files. I am trying to put them on a 2gb sd flash drive. Help…
I want to be able to recover files that have been lost; either through deletion of through loss caused by an unknown action. I want to be able to recover files deleted in a normal fashion (probably through accident) – but not files that have been wiped with some multipass, random patterning writer.
If it is available as freeware, fine. However, I am prepared to buy good shareware or a commercial package so long as it is not too expensive (hey, we all have periods of being poor).
I am seeking opinions of people who have tried or used various packages and hearing what the consensus is – the best or cheapest (and worst for that matter). Just base it on your experience or first hand knowledge.
If the DVD image does not display correctly, you can tick the checkbox for “Flip” to fix it.
Remember to hit “Apply”. Hit “Apply to Child Chapters” if the file you select is a title, or “Apply to All” if the file you select is a chapter. Otherwise, you may click the “Reset” button to gain the default settings.
Trim: This is intended for users to define the beginning time as well as ending time. You can trim the section you want through either defining a specific time or an ending time or drag the side bars at the two ends to clip the movie section. The later is much more convenient. Keep in mind that you must hit the button of “Apply” and “OK” or you have spend all the time in vain.
