but on the other hand, freeware is a trial basis/or free of cost .

I use this rather than iChat because it is a multi-client chat program so I can be on AOL/MSN/GoogleTalk/Yahoo all at the same time from the same program.
Hard to explain, but it is system-wide notification system. For example if your download completes in a browser, it could pop-up a notification on screen. Or if you get a new email, etc.
It’s an awesome little program that lets you separate and combine pdf files by page.

Well, for the most part, the good free software for Apple came with the operating system. iTunes, iChat, iMovie, and the rest of iLife. AppleScript’s there for programmers, XCode’s available as either a download or on the OS CD for advanced programmers. There’s just no Mac shareware to compete with those, you can’t compete with something that’s bundled.

What is a good freeware/shareware download website you’d recommend?

I have some very large .mpg files that have been personally recorded. I want to upload them to youtube and make them private for a friend to view.
They’re too freaking big. 3GB+ for one. Another is over 4GB, and all are in .mpg format. I’ve tried Windows Movie Maker. For one of the videos, it looks for a codec and downloads it every time I play the original file on my computer (which is an .mpg file). When I convert it to “DVD Quality” and publish it using Windows Movie Maker, it stays all black when I attempt to play the converted file. No sound, no picture.
On some of the other files, the sound is so low when I convert it via Windows Movie Maker that it’s useless to convert it. Yet uploading 3GB and above…or even when I break it into smaller files like 100MB sections, it takes an extremely long time on a DSL connection for the uploading.
Are there any non b.s. programs without a trial period, watermark, shareware, demo noises, etc. that will allow me to basically make the video of a lower quality, but still have sound that is loud enough to hear?

Crop: This is intended for users to crop the image.
Select an option under the drop down list of the “Letter Box”, drag the dashed frame on the preview pane, or enter value on the boxes for the four positions to set the pixels you want to cut off. If the file you select to customize is a title, you can tick the checkbox for “Apply to Child Chapters” to get other files with the same settings under the “Crop” tab.
As this guide shows, you can tick several items on the major interface and apply the settings one by one, and in this way, you keep different settings for different titles or chapters, for example, you may have trim first 3 minutes of the Title1_2, the last 30 seconds of the Title1-3 etc.
To combine the sections you have selected and edited, all you need to do is to tick the checkbox of “Merge into one file” next to the format selecting box.

What are some of the most useful freeware/shareware programs you use on a regular basis?

Where can I download this software? Is it a freeware/shareware? I am able to find only lot of papers regarding it in Google but not the software. Is there any other simple software similar to this (other than OPNET or QUALNET) which could serve the purpose of simulating routing in NoC.
I use ”SWF & FLV player” from Eltima software. There’s a PRO version of this program that allows you fullscreen and lot more. I tried to download it, but it was shareware and I don’t have a credit card, so I can’t buy it. Maybe you can find some site to download it free.
I have been looking around for this for a while. Is there any software out there (shareware, freeware, ect.) that records the sound coming OUT of your computer into a new audio file? (whatever file type is fine).
What you want is an audio recorder that captures sound from your audio card on-the-fly.
Be careful what you install though – CNET downloads are usually trustworthy.

I want to be able to recover files that have been lost; either through deletion of through loss caused by an unknown action. I want to be able to recover files deleted in a normal fashion (probably through accident) – but not files that have been wiped with some multipass, random patterning writer.
If it is available as freeware, fine. However, I am prepared to buy good shareware or a commercial package so long as it is not too expensive (hey, we all have periods of being poor).

I have the shareware version of nebula fighter that came with the Egames Galaxy of Games Red Edition but am looking for the full edition as the first 6 levels are ok but 6 more are better.
My mom’s favorite flash game was a puzzle game where you double-clicked a color of bricks to destroy all same colored bricks touching it, hopefully not having any leftovers once you run out of moves. I’m tried looking for a downloadable game that worked the same way, but we don’t even remember the name of the game now. Everything similar I’ve found is a demo or ad-filled shareware, etc. Anyone know what the original incarnation of this game was called, and where we can get a good freeware version?

Which is the best CD/DVD burner from all aspects, like flawless burning, multisession ability, variable burning speed etc. I used Nero 8 but a few folder in my dvd did not work and even resulted in pc being hanged, some files taking very long time to open. I have a made a date dvd with data, audio, video, fonts, etc. all mixed. Any suggestions ? For burning operiating sys, we need to select a low speed to avoid any errors, especially in boot cd/dvd. So which is the best burner from all these angles?

What is the best shareware photo editing program for a PC?

If you have a printer to print the banner then you should have software for it. I have run such large banners but did it with normal size 8×10 blank printer paper using windows paint. But it required allot of cutting, taping and fitting to complete the banner.
You are able to keep increasing the size of any image with paint.
I need to layout a banner that’s 39 wide x 90 tall. Too big for Word (a hassle). It’s mostly text with some images. Any suggestions? Thank you!

You probably have Windows Movie Maker on your computer. It won’t accept the mp4 video, so it needs to be converted. You can buy one. (I like Movavi) .
